Ole Miss right guard Patrick Kutas is being recognized for a stellar showing in the Rebels’ 31-3 win over Missouri.

The conference named Kutas an SEC co-offensive lineman of the week on Monday. Starting at right guard for the sixth time this season and 21st of his career at Ole Miss, Kutas helped the front five earn the highest grade among all FBS units by Pro Football Focus.

Now ranked No. 7 in the latest Associated Press Top 25, the Rebels posted a season-best 257 rushing yards against the Tigers this past Saturday. Star running back Kewan Lacy battled through injuries and led the ground attack with 122 yards on 16 carries — an average of 7.6 yards per rush. Makhi Frazier had 101 yards on 15 carries.

Kutas’ efforts aided in that feat. He also helped keep quarterback Trinidad Chambliss from being sacked against Missouri.

On the season, Kutas and the offensive line have allowed less than one sack per game this season, with their ratio of 0.83 sacks allowed per contest — ranking No. 1 among SEC programs and No. 10 in the nation.

Ole Miss will continue its season at No. 19 Texas on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on ABC and participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations.
