President Donald Trump is coming to Mississippi to stump for Republican candidates ahead of next month’s midterms.

The president will make a stop in Corinth on Monday, Oct. 26, just over a week ahead of the Nov. 3 elections. Mississippi’s current GOP field for congressional offices includes incumbents U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, U.S. Rep. Trent Kelly (District 1), U.S. Rep. Michael Guest (District 3), and U.S. Rep. Mike Ezell (District 4), along with District 2 hopeful Ron Eller.

Trump’s visit to Mississippi comes as the national Democratic Party has zeroed in on Mississippi in the race between Hyde-Smith and Democratic challenger Scott Colom. Colom has drawn endorsements from the likes of former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Kamala Harris, U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), among others.

Mississippi will be one of many places Trump visits as the midterms near. Trump has made recent stops in battleground states in an effort to persuade voters to elect Republican candidates this election cycle. Midterms typically do not go in favor of any president’s party, and politicos nationwide are predicting that Democrats will reclaim control of the House and have a puncher’s chance at taking over the Senate.

Trump’s name, however, carries weight in Mississippi. The commander-in-chief has had convincing victories in the Magnolia State in each of his three bids for president. In the 2024 presidential election, Trump garnered 61.1% of the vote compared to Harris’ 37.3% in Mississippi.

The president’s Mississippi stop is scheduled to take place at the Crossroads Arena at 4:30 p.m.
