More than a dozen Madison County students were hospitalized following a crash involving a school bus in Ridgeland.
Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers confirmed the crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 51 and Colony Park Blvd on Monday morning. The bus reportedly collided with another vehicle.
Officials said 13 of the 32 children aboard the bus were transported to medical care with minor injuries. No injuries were reported in the other vehicle involved in the crash.
“District personnel are working to reunite students with their parents and guardians. Parents of students on the bus are being contacted directly by the district,” a release from the Madison County School District reads. “The safety and security of our students is our utmost concern, and we are working closely with first responders and families.”
The crash remains under investigation.
