A Mississippi man is accused of stealing a fire extinguisher from a Louisiana church and entering a home naked.
The St. Francisville, La. Police Department reports that Heath Alan Brumfield, 49, is charged with simple burglary, simple battery, and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Brumfield, a Vicksburg resident, is said to have stolen a fire extinguisher from St. Francisville United Methodist Church on Tuesday before entering a home on Royal Street.
Police said Brumfield entered the residence through an unlocked door. He was reportedly held at gunpoint by one of the home’s occupants until law enforcement arrived at the scene. When authorities made their way to the house, they said they found the subject unclothed and holding the fire extinguisher.
Brumfield was evaluated by the local coroner and transported to a local hospital for medical care. He was later released and taken into the custody of law enforcement. He is currently housed in the West Feliciana Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
