Ole Miss right guard Patrick Kutas is becoming a household name in the SEC’s weekly honors announcements.
For the second time in three weeks, Kutas has been named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week, with the most achievement being announced Monday. The acknowledgement of Kutas’ excellence on the field followed a 45-15 win over Auburn on Oct. 31.
Graded out at 93% overall with 10 knockdowns, Kutas and the rest of the offensive line paved the way for 224 rushing yards and a total of 487 yards on the day. Kutas helped clear the path for four different Rebels to find the end zone on the ground, while leading a unit that did not allow a sack for the third consecutive matchup.
He helped the offense accomplish 13-of-16 third-down conversions against the Tigers, while scoring touchdowns on four of five red zone opportunities.
On the season, Kutas and the offensive line have allowed less than one sack per game, with their ratio of 0.63 sacks allowed per contest ranking first among SEC programs and fourth in the nation.
The Ole Miss offensive line will have its hands full this weekend with Georgia rolling into Oxford. The No. 12 Rebels (6-2, 4-2 SEC) will face the No. 2 Bulldogs (7-1, 5-1 SEC) on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT. ABC and participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations will air the matchup.
