The Southern Miss baseball team will look to extend its Division I-leading streak of 40 wins or more for the 10th consecutive season when the first pitch of 2026 is thrown at Pete Taylor Park in just under four months.

The Golden Eagles announced their full slate of games for the upcoming season on Tuesday. In total, USM will play 54 regular-season games, 28 of which will be at home.

The schedule starts with a home series against UC Santa Barbara Feb. 13-15 before USM hits the road for a midweek matchup against Southeastern Louisiana. Then, from Feb. 20-22, Christian Ostrander’s group will compete in the Round Rock Classic against Purdue, Oregon State, and Baylor.

Beginning with a Feb. 24 game against Alabama, the Golden Eagles will have three weeks of playing host to SEC opponents. They’ll play Mississippi State on March 3 and Ole Miss on March 10. Sprinkled in between will be a road series at Louisiana Tech from Feb. 27-March 1, a game against Nicholls on March 4, and a home series against North Alabama from March 6-8.

Sun Belt play will then begin with USM opening league competition at Arkansas State from March 13-15. Other road trips against SBC foes include Old Dominion (April 2-4), Louisiana (April 10-12), South Alabama (April 24-26), and James Madison (May 8-10).

Later-season nonconference games at home include Southeastern Louisiana on March 31, New Orleans on April 7, and Tulane on April 21. For midweek travel tilts, the team will go to Mississippi State on March 24 and Tulane on April 28. Neutral-site nonconference games include against Nicholls at Biloxi’s Keesler Federal Park on March 17 and against Ole Miss at Pearl’s Trustmark Park on April 14.

The top 10 teams from the Sun Belt will then meet in Montgomery, Ala., from May 19-24 for the league’s championship tournament. All games will be played at Riverwalk Stadium.

Last season, two Sun Belt teams made it to the NCAA Tournament: Southern Miss and Coastal Carolina. Both teams earned hosting opportunities, with the Golden Eagles being upset at home by Miami and the Chanticleers going all the way to the College World Series championship series and finishing runner-up to LSU.
