On Tuesday, April 22, in honor of Earth Day 2025, Renaissance at Colony Park in Ridgeland and NexTech are partnering to give residents a chance to recycle their electronics.
The recycling event, which will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Barnes & Noble parking lot, aims to avoid improper disposal of unwanted electronic devices or “e-waste.” More than 6.9 million tons of e-waste is generated in the U.S. annually, with less than 20 percent being formally recycled.
“Most people don’t realize how much tech they’ve accumulated until it piles up,” said Beth Zito, Director of Business Development at NexTech. “We want to make it easy to let go of old tech devices and do something good for our planet.”
Acceptable items and disposal costs:
- Desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and cell phones – FREE
- Flat screen monitors – $2 each
- Printers, fax machines, DVD players – $3 each
- CRT monitors – $5 each
- Televisions – $15 each
NexTech’s team will be onsite to unload and manage all devices quickly and securely. All you have to do is drive up and drop off.
