There’s a new top university in Mississippi, according to the “Best Colleges in America” list released by Money.com this week.
William Carey University notched the top spot among four-year schools in the Magnolia State. Factors considered by the personal finance platform site were quality of education, affordability, and alumni earnings.
“I’m proud of the dedicated team at WCU, whose hard work has paid off again,” WCU President Ben Burnett said. “It’s a huge honor for our students, faculty and staff, alumni, and board of trustees to be recognized at this level. We will keep working hard to represent our university in Mississippi – and across the country.”
Following WCU’s four-star rating were the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University with three and a half stars.
The University of Southern Mississippi, Delta State University, and Belhaven University garnered three stars, while Alcorn State University had a two-and-a-half-star rating. Jackson State University, Mississippi Valley State University, Millsaps College, Tougaloo College, Blue Mountain Christian University, and Rust College were not included on the list.
