A couple has been arrested after police found a dead body buried in the backyard of a Jackson residence.
On Monday, detectives with the Jackson Police Department executed a search warrant at the home of Carol Ryan, 81, on Baybury Lane. At the scene, authorities located the body of a deceased individual in a grave located in the backyard. Ryan was reported missing by family members who said that they had not heard from her in months.
On Wednesday, Jackson police announced the arrests of John Ryan, 50, and Samantha Ryan, 48, in connection with the case. While the deceased’s identity has not been confirmed, law enforcement noted that the arrests were made in connection with the missing person investigation of Carol.
John is Carol’s son and was given a $100,000 bond. Meanwhile, Samantha is the deceased’s daughter-in-law and was handed a $75,000 bond. Police are continuing to investigate the case.
