With Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot up to an estimated $105 million, the Mississippi Lottery Corporation is touting some of the local wins that have happened through the national game over the past month.
A $50,000 winning ticket came from the Powerball drawing on Monday. It was purchased at the QuikTrip in Grenada and extends a recent run of Powerball prizes in the Magnolia State.
On Dec. 31, a player in Columbus won $1 million in what could have been $2 million if they had purchased the Power Play add-on. That ticket was bought at a local Sprint Mart.
Before that, a ticket winning $50,000 was purchased at Blue Sky in Winona on Dec. 24. A ticket winning $150,000 was purchased at Love’s Travel Stop in Lake on Dec. 20. Another ticket winning $50,000 was purchased at Kroger in Southaven on Dec. 10.
Wednesday’s numbers will be announced at 9:59 p.m. CT. While the jackpot is at an estimated $105 million, that evens out to a $47.4 million cash value.
“Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the optional $1 Power Play feature that can multiply non-jackpot prizes or the $1 Double Play add-on for a second drawing and separate prize structure,” the Mississippi Lottery Corporation reminded in a press release.
Powerball tickets are available at authorized retailers statewide. Players can check winning numbers and scan tickets using the official Mississippi Lottery Corporation app.
