Lottery players in Mississippi will soon be offered another chance to win big with the launch of “Millionaire for Life,” a new multi-state draw game that begins next month.
The daily game features a grand prize of $1 million a year for life and a second-tier prize of $100,000 a year for life, both paid as annuities with a 20-year guaranteed payout. The game will offer seven other prizes and pit Mississippi players against others from 30 lottery jurisdictions nationally.
The first Millionaire for Life drawing will take place Sunday, Feb. 22, at 10:15 p.m. CT.
According to a news release from the Mississippi Lottery Corporation, the new game is designed to produce daily winners and give players a better shot of cashing out. Overall prize odds are estimated at 1 in 8.46 and grand prize odds are estimated at 1 in 22.9 million.
“Millionaire for Life gives players the chance to dream big every day,” MLC President Jeff Hewitt said. “Winning $1 million a year, year after year, would be life-changing, and this game has the potential to make that a reality.”
Tickets will go on sale the day of the opening drawing and cost $5 per play. They will be available at participating Mississippi lottery retailers statewide.
More information on the game, including further prize details and how to play, will be released on Feb. 12 via the MLC’s website and official mobile app.
