The Super Bowl has become a showdown both on and off the field and especially in the kitchen as fans across the country work to whip up or pick up the best snacks for their parties.
As many of those fans turn to the web to figure out what would be an ideal food, a new study produced by Coffeeness shows what cravings Americans are searching for most – and some of the results may surprise you.
From a national standpoint, buffalo chicken dip emerged as the fan-favorite after ranking as the most searched snack in 31 states. The creamy, spicy staple particularly has strong popularity along the East Coast and the South, but not in Mississippi.
Mississippi’s most searched Super Bowl food is quesadillas, per the study. The traditional Mexican dish made it to the top spot in six states with Arizona, California, Louisiana, Nevada, and Texas joining Mississippi.
Other popular snacks include chocolate chip cookies (8 states), crab Rangoon (2), popcorn (2), garlic knots (1), buffalo wings (1), seven-layer dip (1), pigs in a blanket (1), and deviled eggs (1).
Coffeeness CEO Annę Preuss added that she and her team have also noticed a rise in internet searches for health Super Bowl snacks. Mississippi was one of 14 states where pico de gallo is the option most fans are landing on. Other popular healthy snacks include hard-boiled eggs (27 states), pistachios (5), cowboy caviar (4), and baba ganoush (1).

“What catches my attention is how people are searching for healthier options alongside those indulgent Super Bowl classics,” Preuss said. “It could mean a shift toward more variety, and a longing for something crunchy, fresh, or vitamin-rich to balance out the spread.”
Preuss went on to advise that Super Bowl party hosts should work with those coming over to make sure the spread has something for everyone.
“In any case, the best Super Bowl spread has something for everyone, whether that’s a crispy, indulgent quesadilla or something low-calorie and nutrient-packed,” she said.
