Ole Miss defensive back Dante Core was arrested in Alabama less than one week ahead of the Rebels’ historic Sugar Bowl matchup versus Georgia.
According to a report from the Covington County (AL) Sheriff’s Department, Core was taken into custody following a traffic stop in Andalusia, Ala. on Dec. 26. Authorities reportedly stopped the vehicle after clocking it as traveling over 110 miles per hour while not having a visible license plate.
While searching the vehicle, police discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Core was handcuffed at the scene and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He later bonded out at $1,000.
Core, a freshman from Florida, has not had an impact on the Ole Miss defense this season with no stats recorded. The Rebels will take on Georgia on New Year’s Day.
