The African Children’s Choir will bring its internationally known performance to Vicksburg as part of a free, public concert highlighting music, culture, and education.

The choir is scheduled to perform on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Vicksburg, located at 1607 Cherry Street. The event is open to the public, and no admission is required. Donations will be accepted to support the choir’s mission.

The performance features 17 children aged 8 to 11, all from vulnerable backgrounds across Africa. During their visit to Mississippi, the children will be hosted by local families, allowing them to experience American customs, food, and culture while sharing their own traditions.

The African Children’s Choir is part of Music for Life, an organization that has spent more than four decades using music and education to create opportunities for children with limited access to schooling. The choir’s performances blend traditional hymns with African musical styles and include personal stories centered on faith and perseverance.

“The AfricanChildren’s Choir proves just how powerful music can be,” choir manager Tina Sipp said. “These concerts not only provide hope and encouragement to our audiences, but they also offer the children life-changing experiences that help shape them into future leaders.”

Organizers say the concert is designed to connect communities with the choir’s broader mission of providing education and long-term support for children through Music for Life programs. For more information about the event, please contact First Baptist Church of Vicksburg.

After their stop in Vicksburg, the African Children’s Choir will perform at Poplar Springs Drive Church in Meridian on Feb. 13, Church of the Good Shepherd in Long Beach on Feb. 18, and NorthPark Church in Meridian on Feb. 20.
